When your bottom line depends on your shipments meeting your customers’ Must Arrive By Date, Let MABDPro, Our Predictive Analytics Software, Take The Guesswork Out Of P.O. Compliance.

What Is MABD Pro?

MABD Pro is best of breed technology tool that uses our proprietary analytics process to help you ensure MABD Purchase Order Compliance for your retail LTL shipments thus increasing your scorecard rating, improving your supply chain reliability, reducing your freight costs and eliminating costly chargebacks.

Why is MABD compliance important?

According to a study published in the March 21, 2014 edition of Supply Chain Digest

Reducing (lead time) variability by 50% would have three times the impact of a similar reduction in the average (lead time)

It is extremely difficult to plan for the unexpected (natural disaster, road closures, traffic delays), which is why it is so important to plan and take measures to minimize all the known factors that can affect reliability.

As a vendor, scorecard compliance affects more than just chargebacks; it can influence product placement, or even status as a vendor for the retailer.

Retail Compliance Problems

Meeting a Retailer’s P.O. Delivery Guidelines takes a lot of time and effort on any vendor that is striving to keep their Scorecard within an acceptable range to avoid costly chargebacks. With so many different options available, without significant analysis it is easy to miss a delivery window, or to pay a premium price when proper ship date planning via standard service would have been as effective.

Are you having these compliance problems today?

What does non-compliance really cost?

In addition to direct financial impacts through invoice deductions or chargebacks, there could be other costs of Non-compliance that might include:

  • Loss of Sales – If a P.O. is not delivered as needed by the retailer, it could result in an out-of-stock situation on the shelf. For each day a shipment is late that results in an empty shelf, you could lose an entire day of sales. Just one day late on one order per week, could result in 52 days of lost sales for the year. With ongoing non-compliance, it could mean loss of shelf space, or product placement.
  • Annual pricing negotiations – It is much more difficult to position a price increase on your products if you are consistently in non-compliance with the terms of purchase. Even one half of one percentage point of price increase could be significant.
  • Planning and scheduling costs – with so many shipments each week, it is easy to invest a significant amount of labor dollars just to evaluate the shipping options, as well as planning and scheduling. If you need to spend just 15 minutes per order in analysis, it could add up to over 500 man-hours per year.
  • Other costs – In addition, non-compliance can result in costs for administrative effort, follow-up, recovery, chargeback disputes, and most importantly to your reputation with the retailer.

Can you relate...?

I’m not satisfied with our delivery performance on shipments to my retail customers.

I don’t know all the available options, and the performance and cost trade-offs of each.

I don’t have enough time each week to make sure we are optimizing our carrier, service types, and costs.

I don’t have a single source that provides the information needed to make informed decisions within seconds.

I don’t have sufficient back-up to perform these tasks when I am out of the office.

I’m not satisfied with our delivery performance on shipments to my retail customers.

MABDPRO FAQ's

Q. What is the cost of MABDPRO?

Each solution is individually tailored to each supplier, and is based on the level of implementation, integration, and type of features. Whether established as a transactional, contractual, or licensing fee, we are confident the benefits of improved compliance and relationships with your retail customers will result in a net overall savings to your bottom line.

Q. How can MABDPRO help improve delivery compliance?

With over 75 years of carrier experience, an intimate knowledge of the retailer delivery requirements, and a partnership with a state of the art technology company, MABDPRO focuses on P.O. delivery compliance.

While it is impossible to predict the unexpected (severe weather, highway closures, etc.), there are many controllable factors that can impact actual performance and compliance. Factors such as the calendar, holidays, carrier, ship date, service type, and transit time are controllable; and our rankings consider these factors when presented to you.

Q. Can MABDPRO be used to comply with the requirements of multiple retailers?

Absolutely. While many of the underlying analytics and logic factors remain constant, it is built to dynamically adjust for various requirements from a wide range of retailers. This includes things like a single “delivery on date”, a “delivery by date”, a “deliver by but not before”, or an “MABD window with variable numbers of days within the window”. It can be used for analyzing a single P.O. requirement, or multiple replenishment orders each week. In addition, it can be used for large nationwide roll outs, where each might have the same or even different MABD dates, or even an MABD with a “do not ship before” date.

Q. We have a good working relationship with several carriers, so do we have to use the carriers you recommend through your analysis?

No. MABDPRO will only provide you an analysis of the expected results for each carrier or ship date, which allows you to make the best decision for you. Our results are not biased toward any carrier or service type, but simply intended to provide you the best information for making an informed decision in your fast paced environment. In fact, we can limit the actual carrier choices based on your request.

Q. We are currently above the compliance threshold, so can I still benefit from MABDPRO?

We certainly think so. If you are spending valuable resources to evaluate, plan, and schedule your regular shipments, our technology could provide some of the same analysis in a fraction of the time which allows you to spend that time doing other productive tasks. In addition, even though you are above the threshold there are still financial implications to any P.O. that is not in full compliance. See the section “What does non-compliance really cost” in our overview section.

Q. Other than proper ship date planning, what other factors can influence the actual compliance results?

Managing delivery expectations through ship date planning is critical, but perhaps the other big factor is P.O. number recognition and integrity from the time issued through final delivery. Simply, if the P.O. is not recognized when the shipment is delivered or the trailer dropped on yard, the retailer will not know it has been delivered. Please contact us to more information on other products or services we can offer to assist with this.

Q. Are there other ways to receive the results, rather than as a display?

While the display shown within MABDPRO is the most basic process for obtaining the rankings and data, these results can be “delivered” in a many different ways. Since it is all data driven, these results can be “mapped” to a summarized report, or integrated with an existing TMS, WMS, or ERP.

Q. What are the advantages of using the MABDPRO results in a TMS?

It is a matter of how best to evaluate and view the results. Whether in a TMS or within the online hosted version of MABDPRO, the analytics and logic are the same.

When integrated with a TMS, the inherent benefits of transportation costs for each of the options are provided, allowing the optimal choice based not only of relevant chance of success, bit from a cost perspective as well.

TMS systems also provide tracking and reporting functions for shipments, and if you use one that electronically transmits Bills of Lading to the carriers (thru web based services or EDI 210), it also helps to maintain P.O. number integrity, and allows for established processes to be implemented to identify any gaps in that P.O. number integrity.

Please contact for more specifics, and we would be glad to discuss this in more detail

Q. Does MABDPRO provide flexibility to be used in various systems?

Absolutely. MABDPRO was designed as a stand-alone technology that can be accessed manually through a secure website, or through established protocols from a wide variety of other service providers. If you already have a TMS, we can work with your provider to integrate, or we can refer you to a number of TMS providers for your consideration.

Q. I set my shipping schedule to ship on a certain date, but my carrier failed to pick it up, or my product wasn't ready on that day. When it was shipped the next day it ended up being a day late.

With MABDPRO, it is as simple as running a new query to determine that best carrier with a transit time that meets the new shipping date.

Q. It seems that some weeks I need to ship to a certain destination on Tuesday, but at other times I need to ship on Monday or even the previous Friday. It is hard to understand why this happens when the transit days don't change.

This most often occurs when the carrier has a "service holiday" that falls within the desired delivery window, or while it is in transit. With MABDPRO, the impact of these holidays are considered and is reflected in the optimal ship date options.

Q. When I experience delays in production that causes me to ship later than expected, I either face a late delivery or am required to upgrade to a more expensive service type.

With MABDPro, either of these might be prevented by simply checking MABDPRO using the revised shipment availability date to identify a carrier with a shorter transit time.

Q. With over 40 shipments to make each week, I need to be able to spread out my shipping schedule to match my warehouse and inventory capabilities. This often causes confusion, and it is difficult to remember which shipments must ship on certain dates.

MABDPRO does not just provide a single date option for each destination, but instead identifies any available date option that should result in delivery compliance. Having optional dates at your fingertips allows you to identify destinations that can be held until a later ship date to spreadout your workflow.
